About the artist:
Angela Kelly is an interdisciplinary artist with strong roots in visual mediums, specifically painting. Her concepts are often derived from nonsensical thoughts and dreams in which some form of purgatory or transportive state is suggested. She draws from her childhood experiences, creating a narrative which finds value in the awkwardness of adolescence. In order to convey these stories, Kelly experiments with a variety of media. These include collage, paint, fabric, bookmaking, printmaking, ceramics, performance and music. Her work has been featured at numerous regional venues, including Women’s Caucus for Art, Boston, Galatea Fine Art, SOWA, Boston, and Godine Family Gallery, Boston.
