Adorno, the online platform bridging the gap between digital gallery, marketplace and design city guide, presents Crossovers: 12 curators, 12 collections, 12 global design scenes at this year's London Design Fair in September.
In this remarkable exhibition during the London Design Festival, a number of dynamic works from independent designers working in the intersection of design, art and craft, will be on show. Crossovers is a celebration of those designers and communities around the world striving to preserve and revitalise local design and craft cultures. Kristian Snorre Andersen, the CEO of Copenhagen-based Adorno, remarks: ‘The show will highlight the aesthetic traits and beauty of each scene, facilitating a cross-cultural dialogue—a dialogue that takes its departure from design, and evolves to further cultural and societal issues.’
Curators from twelve countries will present collections at Crossovers. They are: Belgium curated by Elien Haentjens, Denmark curated by Pil Bredahl, Finland curated by
Sebastian Jansson, France curated by Francois Le Blanc, Iceland curated by María Kristín Jónsdóttir & Hlín Helga Guðlaugsdóttir, Italy curated by Annalisa Rosso and Francesco Mainardi, Mexico curated by Ana Elena Mallet & Pilar Obeso, The Netherlands curated by Jorn Konijn, Norway curated by Jannicke Kråkvik & Alessandro D’Orazio, Sweden, curated by Paola Bjaringer, Switzerland curated by Davide Fornari, and Turkey curated by Gokhan Karakus."
Confirmed designers include Aalto+Aalto, Färg & Blanche, Josefina Muñoz, Mette Schelde, Panter & Tourron, Ragna Mouritzen & Troels Flensted, Studío Flétta and Theodóra Alfreðs.
