Composed over the course of a year, this body of work grapples with the fragmented procession of life unfolding in real time. Lamentations and loss. Disillusion and disbelief. Acquiescence and perseverance. Once familiar worlds now inverted, are revealed through looking glass stitches. The work of the hand - single strands - fragile grounds…..the steadfast strength of worn things.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Michelle Kingdom studied drawing and painting in college, earning a BA degree in fine art from UCLA. Upon exhibiting her work and revealing it to the world she garnered an immediate following with her works going viral and published in several magazines.
