What: Susanne Long's work is about memory, adding a visual narrative to her thoughts. Her work is about melancholy and humor, politics and storytelling. She received her BFA, Tyler School of Art, Temple University. Susanne's work has been showing her work for more than 20 years in galleries around the country and is in many important collections.
Colleen Sidey's work like illustrations from a modern day fairy tale, her sculptures blur lines between whimsical fantasy and the realities of everyday life. As a mother, and former child, the stories, cartoons and toys that are a daily part of her life influence her imagery and narratives. The moments from the stories she chooses to reimagine act as familiar doorways to altered characters and personal symbolism. She studied at Humboldt state.
Sandy Calhoun's pieces have stories that could be about other people, but in reality the stories are all about her. Whether male or female, these figures reside in her psyche and she is never quite sure which one she will see. She starts with a story, not an image, and the pieces emerge from there. She wants her work to make viewers laugh, or chuckle at the weirdness of life and our thoughts. Sandy studied at Chico State.
