About Peninsula Art Critique (PAC)
PAC originated in the early 1960’s. Brooklyn-born artist Leonard Breger, who relocated to San Francisco in 1949, worked in window display, theatre and taught art in many Bay Area universities and colleges.
One of Breger’s students, Bea Pincus, succeeded in persuading him to facilitate monthly critiques in artists’ homes. From the early 1970’s Leonard guided two Art Critique groups, one in the Peninsula and the other in the Bay Area.
Leonard and his artist wife, Beth/Liz Pewther/Breger had an evolving “Art House” in Bernal Heights. Breger passed away in August 2012. PAC continues to hold monthly critique meetings.

Concurrently with this show is "Equestrian Portraits and the Fine Art of Untold Tales", an exhibit featuring the works of K. K. (Kay) Johnson in the Community Gallery, which is located on the lower level of the 400 building, just below the Caldwell Gallery. Kay Johnson uses a variety of mediums to capture the spiritual energy and the internal mystery of her subjects. According to the artist there is always more to a story than meets the eye in her paintings. This exhibit also will include nearly a dozen illustrations from her book Burlingame Adventures: The Kohl Mansion Kaper featuring the sleuthing cat characters Davey Krockat and Kristofur Katlumbus.
All shows are sponsored by the San Mateo County Arts Commission and curated by Boris Koodrin. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information, you may visit our website at www.cmo.smcgov.org/arts-commission
