Agora Gallery is proud to announce the opening of Illumination: An Exhibition of Fine Art Photography, featuring the work of four contemporary photographers as they push the limits of this age-old medium. These artists use an innovative approach to still photography to subvert the viewer’s expectations. From water molecules trapped in a sheet of mountain ice by Lliam Greguez to the movements and customs of indigenous civilizations by Danny Johananoff, the work explores the hidden wonders of the world around us. Artist Stephanie Pitoy uses multilayered imagery to illuminate the experience of traveling to a new city, while artist Takuya Yamamoto uses bold colors and blurred images to create dream-like snapshots of a moment in time. By challenging the conventions of fine art photography, these artists tap into the beauty of everyday events, giving meaning and purpose to scenes and experiences we might otherwise take for granted.

Illumination: An Exhibition of Fine Art Photography will open on Saturday, November 10th with a reception on Thursday, November 15th, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm. The exhibition will remain on view until Saturday, December 1st, 2018. All are welcome to attend. Entrance to the gallery is free.
