Agora Gallery is pleased to announce Wonderstruck, a group exhibition of paintings, drawings, and photographs that tap into the inscrutable landscapes of the subconscious and the awe-inspiring mysteries of the natural world. Science and art intertwine as the artists attempt to decipher the underlying mechanisms of reality. With a spirit of chaotic discovery and the genius of alchemists, they distill the magical properties of the natural elements. Images of curiously-shaped ice sculptures, raging spring storms, or vaguely threatening plumbeous oceans inhabit the space, attesting to the constant molecular flux of existence. The perfect geometry of living forms is found in a close-up of magnolia flowers, bodies practicing a variety of yoga poses, or mathematically arranged depictions of musical symphonies or urban environments. The impenetrability of the natural and human worlds translates into surreal visions of forests and spirit animals that seem to hold a wisdom unknown to us all. The enigma remains obscure, yet as we try to solve the extraordinary puzzle of creation, a hand descends from the sky bearing a string of pearls; maybe the key to this mystery.
