Les Richter and Sally Israel were two long-time Greenwich House Pottery members. Both loved making and collecting ceramics. Author of American Shino: The Glaze of a Thousand Faces, Les spent his ceramic tenure working to develop simple pottery forms paired with the complex subtly of Shino. Sally Israel was a teacher and ceramic artist who worked in hand-built ceramics and introduced her cousin, the well-known artist Marge Israel, to ceramics.

A compilation of over 100 cherished pots that Les and Sally collected over the course of their lives will be on display in the Jane Hartsook Gallery. Their collections include work by artists such as Jeff Shapiro, Tim Rowan and long time GHP artists like Jane Hartsook herself. In honoring Les's wishes and the wishes of the Israel family, the collections will be made available for sale on Friday, June 15, 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. with proceeds to benefit Greenwich House Pottery.

The work will be on view and available until June 22, 2018.
