Prix Pictet, the global award in photography and sustainability, has chosen Power as the theme for its fourth cycle. As a theme, Power has enormous creative reach, embracing both hope and despair in equal measure. Over two hundred nominators worldwide recommended almost 650 photographers from seventy-six countries, many of whom presented images that are both awe-inspiring and disturbing.

French photographer Luc Delahaye is this year’s winner. The short list includes photographers Robert Adams (United States), Daniel Beltrá (Spain/United States), Mohamed Bourouissa (Algeria/France),Philippe Chancel (France), Edmund Clark (United Kingdom), Carl De Keyzer (Belgium), Rena Effendi(Azerbaijan/Egypt), Jacqueline Hassink (the Netherlands), An-My Lê (Vietnam/United States), Joel Sternfeld (United States), and Guy Tillim (South Africa).
