"The Tapestry of Echoes" - In their duo show, Jaime Ochoa and Marina Hernandez Ochoa explore self-discovery residing within The Spiritual and emotional depth. Their expressive artistry combines Latino tradition and contemporary culture in painting, collage, and printmaking. The body of work offers an artistic homage that weaves together themes, techniques, and materials to celebrate the diversity of human heritage. Both artists are fueled by a love of nature, Los Angeles, and exploring the deeper meaning of life, love, death and a sustainable future.
In conjunction with the Culver City Art Walk & Roll, the OCTOBER 5th Opening Reception will feature music provided by OMF Attenuation - self described as: “LA based mixed and chopped locally sourced, farm to table fresh, fried twice improvisations and meditations”

Jaime Ochoa draws inspiration from Mexican muralists like David Alfaro Siquerios, African American artist Charles White, and Los Angeles street art blending historical and contemporary influences into his work. He employs mixed mediums and recycled materials, acrylics, aerosols, stencils and linocut print making to create paintings that reflect a vibrant tapestry of social, political, and Meso-American iconography. His art celebrates life, honors past traditions, and commemorates loved ones. Blending the use of ancient imagery and an homage to nature, Jaime conveys a deep connection to heritage and love for the outdoors.
Jaime is also a Los Angeles muralist and has worked as a props master with IATSE Local 33 for twenty years channeling his artistic talents into many television productions. He studied fine arts at Pasadena City College and Art Center.
Marina Hernandez is a multidisciplinary artist born in Los Angeles and raised in Mexico until the age of 11. She works in collage and photography drawing inspiration from her Latina roots. She studied at Pasadena City College fostering a passion for storytelling.
Her pieces are heartfelt explorations of identity, culture, and the transformative power of creativity. She has a passion for collecting vinyl and vintage clothes which influences her work blending music, fashion, and an appreciation of 1950's Mexican cinema. Her collage work is a rich tapestry that celebrates the interconnectedness of these influences alongside topics of beauty, pain, and healing.
Marina incorporates repurposed materials into new creations celebrating the nostalgia of the past while contributing to sustainable art practices for a unique aesthetic that reflects her personal, spiritual, and healing experiences.
This exhibit will culminate in a Dia los Muertos closing celebration on November 2nd.
