Selected works by Tanner Bowman, presented by Fête Esthète + The Art Party

Friday, 6 October 2017 to Saturday, 7 October 2017
Friday, 6 October 2017 - 5:00pm to 8:00pm

Fête Esthète + The Art Party is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, “Selected Works by Tanner Bowman.” The exhibit will be an installative display in collaboration with Sprout Home, on view at Sprout’s Chicago location during the West Town Chamber of Commerce’s annual event, the West Town Artwalk. The exhibition will be open to the public and on view Friday, October 6 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm and Saturday, October 7 from 12:00 - 8:00 pm. The artist will be in attendance at select times during the exhibition (schedule will be announced on the Gallery’s Facebook page prior to the event).

As part of his artistic practice, Tanner experiments with comfort and discomfort both physically and psychologically, believing that it is important to experience unfamiliar situations in order to question our understanding of the world. His work is often a tedious process that takes many hours to complete, tantamount to meditative craftsmanship.

The selected works on display at Sprout Home will feature both new works and iconic forms from the “Hot Mess Vessels” collection by the multidisciplinary artist. The exhibition will be installative, and pieces will be adorned with floral collaborations between Bowman and Sprout Home.

The pop up exhibition will run for two days only, October 6 + 7, 2017.

Artist ( Description ):

Tanner Bowman lives and works out of his home studio in Chicago, IL. Interested in the connections between art and design, Bowman makes functional art objects that utilize techniques and materials common to the American household. Considering himself an anti-industrial designer, he believes that the most valuable object is one which a person can witness the emotional labor the maker applied during creation.
