About this workshop
Join our weekly group for beginners where you will be introduced to the materials, techniques and colour theory to develop your confidence with watercolour.
Basic materials provided. No experience necessary.
Come along each week to experiment with a different theme – or pick and choose the ones you want to focus on:
29 June – Flowers
Paint a colourful and lively flower study and learn how to mix and layer to create the colours you want.
6 July – Reverse Still Life
Explore ways to ‘reserve the white’ and use washes to describe objects and light.
13 July – Animal Portraits
Bring in a photograph of your pet or favourite creature and create effective animal portraits using shape and mark making.
20 July- My Favourite Place
Work in layers from a photograph of your favourite landscape to describe depth, scale and detail.

About the artist – Justine Moss (she/her)
I am an artist, educator and collector of wonderful things. I use drawing and watercolour to make sensitive, detailed or implicative studies of subjects including clothes, nature and the figure. I am currently completing a PhD on drawing garments in film. I run a thriving life-drawing group and lead community art workshops for adults.
I have lived in East Anglia for fifteen years and worked in art education across the region, from Southend to Great Yarmouth.
