London-based artist Sezin Aksoy presents Transessence, a new solo exhibition exploring transformation as both a visual and spiritual condition. Curated by İlayda Uzunarslan, the exhibition brings together a body of work that reflects on the shifting nature of existence through form, time, and perception.

At the core of Aksoy’s practice lies the concept of “trans” understood not only as physical change, but as a continuous state of becoming. Her work approaches transformation as an energy that moves rapidly through life itself, shaping matter, thought, and consciousness. This perspective draws attention to the unstable and interconnected nature of all things, where each element exists in constant relation to another. Through painting and performance, Aksoy translates this dynamic into visual form. Her compositions reflect an awareness of time, space, and movement, often dissolving fixed structures in favour of fluid, intuitive arrangements. Rather than depicting static realities, her work captures moments of transition, states that are both personal and universal.

Transessence expands beyond the visual into an experiential format. Alongside the paintings, the exhibition includes performance and conceptual events that unfold throughout the week, offering a multi-layered encounter with the artist’s ideas. These elements invite the viewer not only to observe but to sense and engage with transformation as a lived experience. The exhibition ultimately proposes that transformation is not an isolated event but an ongoing condition embedded within all forms of existence. Through this lens, Aksoy’s work seeks to awaken a deeper awareness; one that emerges not only through vision, but through an intuitive and spiritual connection to the world.

Sezin Aksoy is a London-based artist whose practice spans painting and performance. She studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where she developed a multidisciplinary approach that continues to inform her work. Her practice evolves around the idea of transformation, not only in form, but also in thought and spirituality. Drawing from symbolic imagery, natural elements, and intuitive processes, she creates works that explore the relationship between time, space, and consciousness. Aksoy’s work reflects an understanding of existence as a network of interconnected energies, where every element is in constant motion. Through this perspective, she investigates how change shapes perception and identity, inviting viewers to engage with both the visible and invisible dimensions of experience. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in London, Istanbul, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Salzburg, and Barcelona.
