Curator tour
Contemplate the emotive stories shared in exhibition ‘Fortitude: healthcare workers’ experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic’ with a curator’s introduction at 6pm and 7pm to the story behind creating the exhibition and highlights from the contributions.
Craft café – crochet special
Take a breath after exploring the exhibition and stop by our craft café to try your hand at crochet and create your own a soft-toy coronavirus with a member of our: no experience necessary! Experienced crochters welcome, too, with materials provided to make and keep your own mini-virus. If yarn-wrangling isn’t your thing you can also have a go at creating origami butterflies. Both activities are inspired by the creative and mindful activities healthcare workers and many others used to look after their own wellbeing during the pandemic and in the years since.
All materials and instructions provided and refreshments will be available in the café.
Explore the museum after hours
While visiting the museum you will also have the opportunity to discover our fascinating Treasures Room of medical implements, ceremonial silver and the Prujean chest of surgical tools. Plus, enjoy the fine art, and other collections on display around the building.
Time: 5.30 – 8pm
