Metamorphic is a captivating new exhibition that delves into the transformative potential of stone within contemporary ceramics. Curated by Studio Director, Alex Simpson, the exhibit's title references the natural processes behind the formation of metamorphic rocks, showcasing the innovative techniques employed by five artists to manipulate both geological and industrial materials.

The collection invites viewers to consider the lifecycle of materials such as stone, brick, and quartz, offering fresh perspectives on both built and natural environments. Each artist's work explores how the transformation of materials and the labour involved can impact a creation's social significance. Through their art, the artists address critical issues like climate change, social inequality, and the intricate relationship between geology and ceramics.

The exhibition is curated to not only explore the interplay between stone and clay but also to encourage reflection on the broader implications of material transformation and the artistic process. The result is a collection of extraordinary objects that invite contemplation on metamorphic transformations.
