In 1963 Josef Albers (1888 – 1976) published one of the most influential art and design books of the twentieth century, Interaction of Color, as a handbook and teaching aid for his experimental way of observing, studying and teaching colour. Albers’ radical teaching was to have a direct influence on the generation of artists who followed him, as well as contemporary artists working today.

This exhibition traces a period of over 50 years and includes prints and drawings by artists from Josef Albers to Bridget Riley, which will be exhibited together with a new site-specific installation by Rana Begum.

The Interaction of Colour is open from 7 September – 26 October 2019.
