Opening:
Saturday, 14 October 2017 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm

Selected artists from Jerwood Drawing Prize 2017, Elisa Alaluusua and Christopher Fry, will run practical drop-in drawing projects that are suitable for all ages, as part of The Living Lines Big Draw Festival.

In her workshop, ‘Continuous Lines’, Elisa Alaluusua will lead participants in chasing the lines that wiggle throughout the Jerwood Drawing Prize 2017 exhibition. Attempt to capture these marks using continuous and unbroken gestures. Challenge yourself to a range of durational drawing exercises: How long can you carry on for? What is your magic number?

Christopher Fry’s workshop, entitled ‘Making Drawings Make Sounds’, will explore the possibilities of bringing drawn marks to life through giving them a voice. Using simple electronic kit, such as the Makey Makey, Touch Board and Arduino, along-side pencils and paper, participants will be shown how to create drawings that produce sounds when touched.

This event is free to attend. Booking is required via Eventbrite.
