A solo show of new works by Christian Newby, displaying a diverse accumulation of his practice, which includes screenprints, wallpaper and objects, that reconfigure the formal and decorative sources from which they derive. Newby will explore Vitrine as a site for potential theatricality oscillating between the experiential and material world. 

Artist ( Description ): 

Christian Newby (born. 1979 Virginia Beach, Virginia) currently lives and works in London, he recently completed a residency at The Florence Trust. He received his B.A. in Sculpture and Extended Media at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2002, followed by an M.F.A. at Glasgow School of Art in 2009. Exhibitions include: Parlour Apes, solo exhibition, Transmission Gallery, Glasgow (2011); Art + Chips, MOT International Project Space, London (2013); Le Club des Sous l’Eau, Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2013); Interior 301, Galerie Alain Gutharc, Paris (2013); Converse/Dazed & Confused Emerging Artist Award shortlist in association with Whitechapel Gallery, London (upcoming).
