From December 13, 2024 to January 11, 2025, Load gallery will host a group exhibition titled "Blurred Lines," which seeks to redefine the conversation around contemporary media art. It aims to celebrate the bold exploration of boundaries, encouraging a deeper understanding of the innovative work being done by artists at the intersection of physical and digital realms.

This exhibition highlights artists who challenge traditional separations in art, pushing the limits of perception and identity. It reflects on the evolving nature of media art, embracing a mix of genres that disrupts conventional categories and fosters a more inclusive dialogue within the art world.

Featured artists include:

Vince Fraser, whose Afro-surrealist pieces reimagine historical narratives within modern contexts, offering empowering representations of the African diaspora.

Massimo Colonna, with his "Paper Dreams" series, invites reflection on the fragile line between reality and dreams, prompting viewers to consider the nature of memory and experience.

Antoni Tudisco, who merges digital chaos with organic forms through vibrant 3D renderings, exploring the relationship between technology and nature.

Jenni Pasanen, blending digital painting with traditional techniques and AI, examines the interplay between human creativity and technological advancement through motifs of nature and anatomy.

Samuel Pietri, who utilizes generative systems to probe the limits of human perception, creating abstract landscapes that challenge viewers’ understanding of reality.

David Ariew, known for his immersive geometric patterns and spiritual themes, employs modern 3D techniques to create transcendent spaces that invite contemplation.

Hsieh Chen Lin (DAMONXART) presents abstract works, viewed from various perspectives, evoking the infinite cycles of the universe, challenging our perceptions of space and time.

Andréa Philippon, capturing beauty and complexity of nature, envisioning a harmonious future where nature and human creations coexist. His work prompts reflections on sustainability and our role in preserving ecosystems, utilizing a blend of digital proceduralism, photography, photogrammetry, and digital painting techniques.

Janie Fitzgerald, a pioneer in 360º photography since 1994, mirrors moments of stillness and connection through her evolving floral pieces. Her art suggests that the most joyful experiences are often intangible.

KeJyun WU invites audiences into an immersive experience that blurs the boundaries between the real world and digital simulation, encouraging reflection on our evolving relationship with nature in a technologically mediated era and reevaluating the future possibilities of virtual reality.

Anthony Samaniego uses innovative techniques learned from photography to reinterpret familiar subjects within 3D visualizations. His works encapsulate real-world inanimate objects, transforming them into flowing memoirs of the digital space.

Together, these artists present a multifaceted exploration of our relationship with nature, technology, and the cosmos, inviting audiences to reflect on their place within these interconnected realms.

About the Gallery

Located in Barcelona’s creative Poblenou district, Load Gallery is the latest arrival to the city art scene. Thanks to bespoke next-generation screens and an elaborate sound system, it brings digital art to life, showing the most ambitious artworks by internationally acclaimed artists. Load Gallery aims to redefine how media art and NFTs can be exhibited, distributed and managed and how they can be shown alongside physical art to create a coherent narrative.

The gallery has a total of 9 screens, 5 are located at the front, and there is a smaller room that features 4 equal round screens. This room is thought of as a sandbox for the artists to push the envelope and try things they haven’t done before to create an immersive experience for the viewer by adding physical objects.

Load's debut in Barcelona marks an important development in the city's efforts to establish itself as a leader in digital culture. Barcelona is already home to the Loop art fair and festival, OFFF, Sonar D+, and other initiatives centred on media art and digital culture. Load complements these events with a dedicated space for showcasing digital artworks with the sophistication they merit.

Load offers collectors a full-chain solution: its sister company Artbox designs, manufactures and install screens, boxes for streaming and other hardware, while Load proprietary software makes managing and distributing digital art easy and intuitive.
