Barcelona, Spain – The Barbagelata Contemporary Art Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of “Uncharted Imaginings”, a solo exhibition by artist Norm Ellis on view beginning August 10, 2025.
This evocative body of work explores the boundaries between precision and intuition, drawing from the artist’s 46-year career as a mechanical engineer and his lifelong dedication to visual art. Deeply influenced by nature, Native American culture prior to the 1800s, and the limitless dimensions of Surrealism, Ellis creates works that invite viewers into spacious, dreamlike landscapes where meaning is felt rather than explained.
With pieces such as his Fantasy series the artist embraces negative space and symbolic imagery to build a visual language that transcends verbal communication. His art is a meditation on identity, memory, and the power of conscious creativity — inviting the viewer to engage not only with the work, but with their own inner worlds.
“I am creating a visual communication with the world that words alone cannot express,” the artist shares. “Surrealism gives me the freedom to create what is in my heart.”
“Uncharted Imaginings” will be on display at BCAF starting August 10. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Full details and select works can be viewed online at www.barbagelata.org/norm-ellis
