Opening of the solo show “bedingt physisch” (engl.: somewhat physical) by the artist Gianin Conrad and Performance “tocca con sordino” by Quirina Lechmann.
6pm, toccata con sordino by and with Qurina Lehmann / SUI+BE. In the performance toccata con sordino, Quirina Lechmann explores the exhibition bedingt physisch (engl.: somewhat physical) by Gianin Conrad. In her search for the non-existent but defining thing, she creates situations between sculpture and performance. She becomes a composer who does not put notes together to form a piece, but rather
collects impressions, bundles them and puts them together to create a wide variety of sound constellations. These constellations sometimes form into coherent, almost song-like pieces, while sometimes they only remain as fleeting inklings or resonances. Quirina seeks spontaneity and the risk of failure, which has no place in being an opera singer. She experiments at the interface of voice and sound, of program and unplannedness, of conditionally physical.
The exhibition title bedingt physisch (engl.: somewhat physical) refers to the metaphysical, temporary space between things, between people, between thing and performance. – Artistically and musically, Gianin Conrad and Quirina Lechmann pose the question of the ephemeral but formative nature of a thing, an activity.
