Sands of Time – Painting by David Snider

Country:

Categories:

"I can say that my work has been influenced by the Impressionists of Europe and by the Abstract Expressionists of America. They eliminate the boundaries of convention and allow the creative spirit to run free. My work with palette knife is like sculpting on canvas with all the means of expression and form it offers.  The abstract works are meditative while the landscapes are born of impression, memories and fantasy, those endless paths through life that are the heart of my creative self.

Art is long and time is fleeting, but to quote Shakespeare: "One touch of nature makes the whole world kin"." – David Snider

David Snider was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1950 and grew up in New England and Florida. He studied English and American Literature at the University of Massachusetts, the University of Leeds/UK and at the Albert-Ludwig-Universität in Freiburg i.B., and took a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the Univ. of Massachusetts in 1984 and in 1998 a BA (Hons) Degree from the Winchester School of Art/UK.
