Armin Rohr is a painter and draughtsman. For his work he uses different, traditional media such as paper or canvas. In cycles, he repeatedly changes his pictorial language by switching from abstraction to figurative or combining both forms. His best-known works are characterised above all by a combination of extensive wall installations consisting of murals, paintings and drawings, autonomous oil paintings and monotypes.

In the PASSAGE art project in the Kaiserpassage in Bonn, SZALCprojects and DAS ESSZIMMER are showing three of his large abstract works on canvas that are similar to his murals. In the individual works, round, organic forms alternate with graphic structures. The interplay of amorphous, abstract bodies, surfaces, dots and lines creates the illusion of spatiality. They form their own effective space of figures and structures. In the mostly colour-intensive arrangements, Armin Rohr combines organically proliferating forms, remnants and ciphers of figurativeness and abstract colour surfaces in his abstract phase to create an associative but alien cosmos.
