Ma Nan Poetic Textures solo exhibition opening June 14th

The Elisabeth de Brabant Art Center is delighted to present Ma Nan’s latest solo exhibition, Poetic Textures. The artist presents a new dialogue through beautifully textured oil paintings, which are at once modern and nostaglic. Ma Nan's fascination with the passage of time and of Ancient China is rendered contemporary through her technique. From her development in stone cutting and collage, the artist now moves towards the canvas. Hauntingly beautiful portraits are reminicent of elegant dynastic princesses, yet they contain a modern sensibility in her use of abstract brushstroke, collage and texture. The Ancient beauties become dynamic and forceful while their gazes remain distant, yet engaging.
