Untold Stories, an international online solo mixed media exhibition by Joy Broom opens on April 20, and will continue through May 20, 2022.
Combining her biological drawings with inherited old family letters and photographs, Joy Broom's work has a long history of layering elements of the Natural World. The way her work has evolved to reflect broader impersonal aspects of Memory and History is unique. She also applies purified beeswax to the paper surfaces to metaphorically protect and bring the history back to the earth. Moreover, this is the first time that she has made work obliquely addressing her own mortality.
