Someone is trying to tell you something, an international online solo photography exhibition by Kat Alyst opens on August 05 and will continue for one month until September 05, 2023.
Kat Alyst uses a stylized camera lens to offer oddly familiar glimpses into abstract, fictional worlds that, nonetheless, convey authentic narratives.
Color theory in imagery is often influenced by experiences with synesthesia and is a prominent feature of the storylines presented. The pieces often hint at nostalgia and feature lonesome expressions, with messages that are sometimes obscured beneath the surface. Some of the subjects gaze at the viewers, inviting them to briefly inhabit their world, while others look away, signaling a preference for the viewer not to linger too long. In either case, the duration of the gaze serves as a reflection of the overall piece.

Artist:
Kat Alyst, born January 25 in Lufkin, Texas, pursued studies in Fine Arts at Stephen F. Austin University, receiving her BFA. After completing her studies, she began life as a graphic, designer and full-time artist with choosing photography as her medium. She is best known for high stylized juxtaposition, saturated color, palettes, blurring the lines of fictional worlds adorned in fashionable trends, focusing on true narratives with a fever dream-like visual spin.
