Servane Briand's book arts are remarkably creative that draws from a wide variety of crafts and arts. As an enthusiastic reader who has have always loved books, this naturally led her to make her own.

Artist:
A French native, Servane first came to California in 1985 before completing her studies in New York and Milan. Since then, she has lived in San Francisco, Paris, and Palo Alto. She worked in various fields and made a radical move from high tech to printmaking and book arts in 2006. She was an artist in residence at the Cubberley Artist Studio Program in Palo Alto, California for eight years and recently moved her studio to San Francisco. Her books may be an attempt to gentle the information overload and make a pause in time, while she welcomes the wealth of data and ideas that are today's constant source of inspiration.
