The Fleeting Portraits of Ever Changing Heart, an international online solo painting art exhibition by Ania Modzelewski opens on July 30, and will continue for two months until September 30, 2024.

Each piece is a testament to her belief that the choice of material is secondary to the powerful conveyance of emotion. Ania Modzelewski is a versatile and prolific artist. Her work ranges from classic figurative paintings and sculptures to modern images and abstracts. She uses clay, bronze, plaster and resin in her sculptures and mixed media in her paintings. There is a deliberate commitment to media she chooses when she wants to express and share her feelings with a viewer. Some of her inspirations are best expressed as sculptures, where the 3 dimentional image is important to her, the others - that require vivid colors are transferred to canvas.
After studying sculpture in Poland, Ania spent many summers in Pietrasanta, Italy improving her skills under the direction of Bruno and Paul Lucchesi. Her later studies with California based sculptor Richard MacDonald further reinforced her love of transforming clay into sensuous human bodies. Somehow Ania finds a close connection between humans and animals that is well expressed in her latest series “ Legends, Stories and Believes.”. She carefully choses models for her sculptures that can best represent the story, she intends to tell.
Her approach to paintings is different. That’s when she allows herself “ to go wild” letting the colors and her brush strokes evoke the imagination of the viewer. “ The sun is so bright where I live now, that I want to convey the feeling of waking up to a blue sky, warmth, simplicity and comfort ( and some struggle as well ) in my paintings”, she says.
Ania Modzelewski lives and works in Kailua, Hawaii. Her work was displayed in many galleries in Europe, Canada and the USA.
