Artist:
I have been an artist all my life. I studied fine art in college but went on to be a graphic designer as a career. I spent many years working in advertising in Los Angeles, then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked in Silicon Valley for tech firms until I retired because of my husband's health. I became a caregiver for several years. After my husband died, I began painting again. It was a challenge for me to cut loose from my training as a designer to let myself be free of "design restrictions and marketing goals." Once I was able to find a way to stop worrying about the end result and enjoy the process, I became a full-time artist. I live in Santa Cruz, California.
