Vera Wei work is defined within the dense and resistant malleability of copper, steel, or aluminum frames the fabric. As she has been observing the imperceptible feelings lurking in the minutiae, and with the fleeting of those feelings, unspeakable potentially huge source of energy is freed into creating. She reproduces and processes the state of hidden feelings in her life marked by the collision of hard and soft characteristics between materials.

Artist:
Hankunyu (Vera) Wei is a first-year graduate student in the metalsmith department of Cranbrook academy of art, from a small city in china. She just got her bachelor degree in metal and jewelry design major from Savannah College of Art and Design. She is passionate about studying the relationship between things and applying them to her works. Exploring unspoken conversations from people and objects is her main inspiration. During her student life, she has studied the connection between people and animals, the impact of the environment on people, and the reactions of collisions between objects. Her works are not limited to concepts, but the study of materials is more important. She believes that materials can be better when it shows the vitality and meaning of a work. The plasticity of materials is hard to imagine, and she has maximized the plasticity of materials in her constant attempts. Imagination and creativity are often stimulated by persistent experimentation.
