Reaching Through Impressions and Expressions, an international online solo painting exhibition by Rolanda Engstrom, opens on January 06, 2023, and will continue through February 06, 2023.
Rolanda's first artistic attempt was making her mashed potatoes more palatable. Nowadays, her work has gone from “food landscapes” to impressionistic figures placed in an abstract world. Painting makes her feel and it is calming, meditative and elemental for her. In the process of creating, the feel and color combinations are as pleasurable as eating; satisfying, gratifying, necessary as she truly believes that the creative process is not about creating something, it’s about creating who you are.

Artist:
I worked in the fashion industry for 27 years. My experience with the lines of the figure, color and textures are easily transferred to my paintings. Abstraction and finding the figure in that space is so exciting.
Art for the Soul was my next venture after designing, After treatment for cancer at UCI Medical Center, my husband and I taught art as healing to cancer patients, survivors and their family members. Art for the Soul was a volunteer effort that we did for 14 years at UCI and various support groups at USC until Covid shut us down.
