Hidden Dimensions in Urban Architecture, an international online solo photography exhibition by Jens Vange, opens on January 05, 2023, and will continue through February 05, 2023.
Jen's imagination has been long captivated by Magritte, Escher, Monet, and Dali. As an architect, he has learned the properties of light and air and how to seek the fleeting moments of not just reflections, but unexpected distortions of forms and edges. His photos seek out edges of realities as he hunts for the hidden dimensions of urban architecture reflected in glass, stone, water, and curved vehicle surfaces. His photos inspire viewers to look beyond the familiar and uncover, or rediscover, the fantastic. Notably, all his images are single exposure and none are montages.

Artist:
Jens Vange received his first camera in his early teens from his father, an avid vacation photographer. A Kodak 110 format pocket Instamatic. He spent the next three decades expanding his gear and building on his father’s inspiration to capture the essence of places. As an architect, Jens honed his aesthetic sensibilities, particularly drawn to the magic of light. His photos of the Hidden Dimensions of Architecture have been exhibited, awarded, and published internationally including receiving the First Prize in this year's American Institute of Architect's annual photography competition. Jens's primary camera is a Sony A7iii, but he still occasionally returns to the immediacy and stealth of a pocket camera: his iPhone.
