Bringing the outdoors indoors

Svona Kay’s journey in photography began when her eldest son mailed her a digital camera while he was a serviceman overseas. Even though it was tiny (not only in size, but it was a mere 1.5 MP in resolution), it was to open up a vast reservoir of opportunities. She began “seeing” in a totally new way, shooting images of everything and anything.

Eventually she wanted more than just a hobby. In the ensuing years, she upgraded her camera equipment several times and diligently studied to master her skill in order to capture the stunning glory of the Northern Michigan landscapes where she resides.

She became part of an online international community of photographers, in time ranking #1 out of the top 1000 members. She was asked to display her work in the Inspire Art Gallery in Traverse City, MI until it closed. Currently, her photography can be seen at the Fourth Street Art Gallery in West Branch, MI.

Svona’s greatest desire is to enable people to bring the great outdoors….indoors. A glorious sunset that matches the color of a couch. A vibrant forest that compliments an office décor. A beach scene hanging above a bed to lull one to sleep. A collection of florals to add interest to a waiting room. She excels at finding space inside (in a home or business) to fill with outside places.

Her photography is available in Canvas, Metal, Acrylic, matted and framed formats. Digital downloads can also be purchased. Other items she offers include Great Lakes Lighthouse Souvenir Magnets, and “Utterances”, a greeting card line which declares the Word of God. As a Christian, Svona seeks to capture the radiant and stunning glory that God inherently placed in all of creations.
