PRESS RELEASE
Gallery70 has the pleasure to invite you at the opening event of Ergys Zhabjaku’s “Street People” The exhibition includes 24 photographs in black and white taken fron the artist during 2006-2020. "The action of staying where one is or delaying action until a particular time or event” This is the definition of waiting. It relates to waiting, because this project bears much time inside and I, myself, have waited for such a momentum with some kind of curiosity, as if to show the things I could not express in words, otherwise. In this collection, all scenes come from the street. Characters continue to live their lives as humans. I have never wanted to get to know or influence them through my photography. I have passed by, trying to photograph the state they were in and the absurd they aroused. Absurd, is also the word that I would like to call my search , because it took too many days of my life. All this time, waiting to catch a movement or a graceful attitude of street people. I call them street people, as if they constitute a particular species. Anyway, no. For me, street people are those who wait for something to happen and, maybe, their expectancy is their only asset”
