Gallery70 is proud to present a new exhibition by Jon Kraja
I scream, you scream or icecream brings together new works by Jon Kraja, selected from his ongoing series Mockery, Spectaculum, and Scream of the Butterfly. In this exhibition, Kraja explores the absurd theatre of modern life through irony, symbolism, and emotional tension.
In Mockery, social façades are dismantled exposing the contradictions and absurdities of public life.
Spectaculum channels the fervor of fate—reimagined through the spectacle of football. “The modern stadium has replaced the temple as the site where collective belief is projected and experienced.”(1) In this spirit, Kraja views the football field as a contemporary altar, where fate, identity, and myth are shaped through passion and ritual.
Scream of the Butterfly dives into an inner and delicate realm—quiet moments that evoke revolt, transformation, and vulnerability. “Real art doesn’t explain—it disturbs.”(2) These works transmit precisely that kind of silent tension, like a sigh on the verge of becoming a scream.
With a title that teeters between laughter, despair, and irony, I scream, you scream or icecream invites the viewer to confront mockery, fate, and spectacle—where absurdity becomes a strangely familiar reality.
