"Myself / Them" Jin Young Yu Solo Exhibition

For our first ever large-scale popup exhibition, we are excited to present Myself / Them, the debut solo exhibition in the United States of South Korea-based artist Jin Young Yu. 

Myself / Them brings together over twenty of Jin Young Yu’s hauntingly beautiful doll-like sculptures from two major bodies of work, “Me & Myself” and her latest series “Me & Them.” Through the artist’s masterful renderings of emotionally complex individuals, she dramatizes the pressures in contemporary life between how we are expected to behave versus how we really feel. Most of the artist’s highly personal character studies have never been exhibited together, and many works from both series are being shown in public for the first time. 

The exhibtion runs from Sept 19 through Oct 17, 2015.
