The Figurative Art of Lynne Brotman and Stephen Paul Connor

Lynne Brotman and Stephen Connor are artists with studios located at the Canopy complex in east Austin. Each has been working in abstraction and this exhibit features their intense new figurative work.

Brotman, who traditionally works with fiber and mixed media, will be showing her new work of acrylic figurative paintings exploring tribalism and personal symbology.  Her interest in cultural and applied anthropology is demonstrated in this current body of work.

In his free drawing process, Stephen Connor discovered a strange and at times fragile world - populated by demons, horned beasts, robots, and warriors. His images suggest a narrative in a space that is alternatively Medieval, Futuristic, and Apocalyptic.
