Stop Making Sense

Roberta Moore Contemporary is delighted to announce 'Stop Making Sense', a joint show with sculptor Georgiana Anstruther and abstract artists Carol Corell at Lacey Contemporary Gallery.

The title 'Stop Making Sense' stems from the advise Sol LeWitt gave in a letter to the young sculptor Eva Hesse when she was overthinking her work, something all artists experience. The phrase resonates in the context of Georgiana and Carol because although dramatically different, their work complements each other in a unique and refreshing fashion.

With Carol, she uses blocks, stripes and simple geometric shapes throughout her work to create energetic colour and line. Whereas Georgiana, achieves an intensity of feeling and emotion, and through this breathes life into the finished bronze.
