Larry Achiampong and David Blandy will present Media Minerals, an archive of the collaborative process focusing on their current research and production towards their HD video work Finding Fanon. This new body of work is inspired by Frantz Fanon (1925-1961), a politically radical humanist whose practice dealt with the psychopathology of colonisation and the social and cultural consequences of decolonisation.

The two artists negotiate Fanon’s ideas, examining the politics of race, racism, the post-colonial, and how these societal issues affect their relationship, as it is played out through phonecalls, txts, Whatsapp and IRL. Achiampong and Blandy question the promise of globalisation as they come to terms with their own heritage. Media Minerals is a catalogue of imagery, sound, video and text that have contributed to the creation of this ongoing work.
