Tim Bučkovic paints from a place of acute contemplation. Almost meditatively, he approaches each brush stroke, each mark on the canvas, as infused with qualities of presentness. Building up shadowed layers, often in darkened grey tones, Bučkovic manifests depth and profunditude within the unique atmospheric language of his work.

About his practice, Buckovic states, ‘I set up paintings traditionally, however as the images themselves are not sitting within a traditional painting setting, this allows the materials and techniques to be drawn out and exposed, allowing a sort of material bleeding to occur. Where traditional signs are reorganised into an experimental form.’

Bučković currently lives and works in Melbourne. He has studied painting at the Victorian College of the Arts and in the master class of Prof. K. Grosse at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Bučkovic has held various exhibitions in galleries in Melbourne
